OUR GUESTS TELL ALL (Our answers are in green):
Thank you for this wonderful cabin! We found it quite well stocked with anything and everything we needed and more. Everything is beautiful out here. We were even able to make comfortable accomodations for all eight of us. We thank you for your hospitality and we wish we had time and the resources to stay another day. The only suggestion I would make would be to put a curtain over the door and bathroom windows. The outside light is very bright in the cabin. The bathroom window is in open view of the cabin next door.
-James and family, from Illinois-

We put curtains up and adjusted the angle of the security light. Thank you for letting us know.

We liked how peaceful it was here. The pond was beautiful and our kids had fun exploring around it. We sailed leaf boats down the stream and were excited to discover a turtle. Everything was clean and well stocked. We really liked that there wasn't a TV or telephone! This was one of the most unique and serene places we stayed. With Laura Ingalls Wilder Home literally within sight it was a perfect location! It was nice to slow down and really rest at Mansfield Woods after days on the road. The cabin was clean, neat, and very relaxing. The wildlife, the setting, and the view were the highlights and we were very well taken care of. It felt like home as soon as we arrived! Thanks! We loved it.
-Mr. & Mrs. J.D., from Montana-

Thanks! We're still evaluating the need for TV. We have seen other opinions on this issue.

Delightful - Decorated with a lot of thought. Beds very comfortable. Appreciated how well the kitchen was stocked with eating/cooking utensils as well as the supply of teas, hot chocolate, and coffee. Enjoyed the view and the duck! No bugs or critters in the cabin.
Suggestions:
1) a light over/on the kitchen table- it's a little dark when the sun goes down.
2) paint the trim on deck window to match the front door.
3) remove the paint splatters from the bathroom mirror and provide a brighter light bulb as it is a little hard to see to "pluck".
4) a walking path around the pond (gravel)
5) coat tree
-Lynn C.-

We will be painting the whole exterior of all the cabins this year. The mirror is an antique and can't be cleaned off. We have ordered a new mirror glass that must be cut to size. We changed the Light bulb to 75 watt. We hadn't thought of a walking path around the pond. We're considering it. Thanks. (Lynn refers to the Muscovy duck that has made Mansfield Woods Pond his home.)

Beautiful, quiet setting. Kind and gracious hosts- appreciated the call to check on our arrival and dinner plans as well as the rescue-get-me-there assistance! Cabin was smaller than I expected but cozy and comfortable. Loved the thick, soft bath towels and wash cloths! The decor was beautifully simple and added to the charm. The ample coffee and tea service was truly a delight (sorry, I roast my own coffee and brought it from home but if I hadn't...) Appreciated the thoughtfulness. Providing charcol for the grill was also wonderful! And the citronelle candle. Thank you very much for a lovely stay. The complimentary bottle of wine to celebrate 40 years of friendship was very thoughtful and much appreciated. I'll be back.

Barb & Pop, Thanks so much for a great weekend. I'm including some photos from this weekend for your site. I also blind cc'ed you on my email to the Wilder Museum so you can read my comments. If you do set up a customer testimonials section on your website, please contact me so I can put in my raving remarks.
-Teresa, from Missouri-

We really enjoyed our stay! The peace and quiet were wonderful, and of course it's a beautiful setting. The only complaint we have is the water has a strong, unpleasant odor.
-Cheryl & Elizabeth, from Texas, and Trina, from Missouri-

This happens on rare occasions when a water heater contains a magnesium anti-corrosion element. It's a nuisance, but is no danger to health. We fixed it. Thank you for letting us know. In any event, The purity of our well water is checked monthly.

Thoughtfully renovated cabins in a lovely wilderness setting. Proprietors Barb and Kate are friendly and helpful. Good fishing, nice library, and a short walk to Laura Ingalls Wilder Home & Museum. We look forward to returning next year.
-Tom & Jane, from New York-

Very comfortable accomodations. Nice view from the deck. Bed comfortable. Thanks for the complimentary bottle of wine for our celebration. What would be helpful is a light in the dining area. Also, maybe a coat rack on the wall outside the bathroom to hang jackets. I would recommend this place to others. P.S. The duck is not ugly.
-Mary, from Texas-

Mary refers to our Muscovy duck. We think he's ugly because his head is covered with red warts. Appears that Mary disagrees.

Quaint, cozy New Years retreat. Great Hospitality! We suggest that you put a curtain on the door to block out the security light.
-Heather & Brian, from Missouri-

Please feel free to use any that you like. Thanks again for your hospitality. We had a great time and we were really able to unwind and relax!
-Kathy, from Kansas-

We asked Kathy's permission to use some photos we took of her family.

Hi Barbara and Kate, Just wanted to say thank you so much for the wonderful welcome, complimentary bottle of wine, attention to detail, and delightful stay we had at Mansfield Woods Cabins. I am sure I will stay with you again sometime soon. All three of us really enjoyed our stay with you very much. The cabin was cozy and comfortable and we loved having breakfasts and suppers on the deck overlooking the pond. Thanks for all your hard work! You're tops on our recommended places to stay!
-Robin, from Missouri-

I think it's awesome here ! I love to go to the pond and see the duck.

-Anna's Mom Lisa, from Illinois-

We had a wonderful time. This place is perfect for nature lovers. There's plenty to explore and it is very serene. Also, for those of us who are fans of Laura Ingalls Wilder this place couldn't have been more convenient. Thanks for all the extra special touches you provided. We appreciated it.
-Lillian, from Alabama-

Cute! Nicely done. Wish we had more time to explore outside. Kids enjoyed fishing! Suggested improvements: Bathroom door sticks, Right window to deck has trouble, improve landscaping.
-Carl & Family, from Georgia-

Thank you for letting us know about these. It is our newest remodeled cabin and we are still fine tuning. Landscaping is Always an ongoing project.

Wonderful stay here on visit to Laura Ingalls Wilder's House & Museum. Cottages are very quiet and private and comfortable and close enough to Laura Ingalls Wilder's House to walk to. Really nice place to stay with view of small lake from cottage patio. Very much enjoyed our stay and will come again if we ever get back to Mansfield.
-Bill, from Texas-

Everything was wonderful! The cottage was very up-to-date and contemporary. The little hot tea basket is a great idea! The room was very clean, and the owners were very nice and courteous. Definitely a home away from home. If we ever get a chance to come back, be certain that we will. Thanks for the hospitality.
-Chris, from Missouri-

Thanks for a nice visit. The surroundings were very peaceful. The ducks and squirrels were very entertaining. Loved how close the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum was to cabins. The cabin was clean and neatly decorated.

I had a very pleasant & relaxing stay at your facility. I enjoyed the peace and quiet. The scenery was beautiful. I enjoyed standing on the dock listening to the bullfrogs and watching the fish come right up to feed. The cabin was clean and inviting. And had the necessities of home. Thank You,
-Mary, from Missouri-

Thank you for a wonderful stay. Your cabins are clean and nice. I plan on coming back someday.
-Vicky, from Missouri-

We were very pleased with our stay at Mansfield Woods. My 7 year old daughter loved the color coordination throughout the cabin. We enjoyed our meals on the porch overlooking the pond while the frogs sang. Thanks, we hope to come back.
